The latest addition to our collection of window and doors systems, the Classic Series Window, has been designed to provide utmost flexibility in aesthetics, design options, and functionality.

For use in more traditional designs, the Classic Series window can be built with our true-divided lights and fixed sashes for fixed windows. Traditional cam latch casement hardware is available to complete the look, and stile and rail dimensions can be customized in order to ensure proper proportion relative to design and maintain perfect alignment of glass divisions across building elevations when paired alongside our other door and window systems.

For use in modern architectural styles, the direct set window option is sleek in appearance. A common mullion system can be built to specified depths and utilized to create window wall systems that include both operable and fixed components. This creates the most narrow and clean appearance possible negating the need for any trim or mullion caps.

A stainless steel four-bar hinge is standard with an option to satisfy egress requirements, or a butt-hinge can be specified for units exceeding typical casement heights or if there is a desire to match hinges on adjacent doors.

For ultimate security, the Classic Series window can be outfitted with a true European multipoint latching system that latches the window along multiple locations around the perimeter of the sash with the use of a single window lever.

Classic Series windows can be built as casements, awnings, rounds, arches, bays, bows and window walls with a full complement of options to add to your design palette.

Read along as Quantum’s Senior Sales Representative, Ty Robb, tells us all the different uses of Lift/Slide Doors.

Great Room to Patio:

Lift/Slide doors offer many fantastic design options for great rooms or living rooms. The Lift/Slide hardware offers the ability to open large expanses. With a maximum panel weight of nearly 900 pounds, Lift/Slide doors can be dramatically sized to make the best use of a view or create maximum clear openings ideal for entertaining. Further, almost any configuration is possible from opening corners, to pocketing systems that completely conceal operable panels when open. Threshold options range from hardwood to aluminum, and, in the right climate, low-profile track systems provide continuity of finish flooring from interior to exterior with minimal track visibility.

Master Bath – Opening to Exterior:

Master Bath applications for lift/slide doors tend to be smaller in scale for privacy reasons and often utilize our pocketing option. Lift/Slide doors constructed of teak are often recommended due to the proximity to baths and showers because of the density of the wood. Popular applications include large pocketing Lift/Slide windows above the master bathtub or as access doors to outdoor showers. Special glazing options can provide high levels of natural light while maintaining privacy.

Outdoor living area:

The use of Lift/Slide doors for outdoor living areas allows for an easy transition from conditioned interior space to fully ventilated and open living area. Lift/Slide doors utilized on one to four sides of a structure will blur the distinction between out and in and nature and structure. Low profile track systems are common in these locations when combined with non-water sensitive flooring materials such as stone or tile. Lift/Slide doors can include sliding insect screen panels that create a screened-in patio when the glass door panels are operated.

Corner of a room:

Corner Lift/Slide doors are both aesthetically impressive and easy to operate while providing a high level of functionality. The ability to open the corner of a cantilevered structure creates an overwhelming experience that appears to defy the laws of physics. As the Lift/Slide door panels are supported on the floor rather than from the structural header, larger corner openings are possible with this system than can be accomplished with folding doors or other systems. The ability to build panels that are both taller and wider that any other door system provide for maximum glass sizes and the smallest possible obstruction of a view.

Commercial – opening to a conference room:

Interior spaces are an excellent application for a Lift/Slide door system. Even though there are none of the weather concerns in an interior application that typically necessitate using the Lift/Slide door, the system is ideal in its ability to create large operable panels that move with ease. This type of system is commonly used to separate conference rooms or divide multi-purpose spaces. Interior Lift/Slide doors provide the opportunity to use furniture grade interior woods such as maple or walnut without the concern that the doors will weather over time. As the Lift/Slide panels are supported at the sill rather than the head the door system can be placed anywhere in the structure without concern for the availability of overhead structural support. The use of special glass can provide additional privacy and a reduction of sound transmittance. With the use of the correct glass, a large Lift/Slide panel can make an ideal projection surface.
